MAGRATH PROFESSIONAL CENTRE
Edmonton, AB
February 2024
The renovation of Magrath Professional Centre focused on a general update of the common areas including the main floor two-storey lobby and atrium, elevator cabs, a second-floor mezzanine waiting area and adjacent corridors.
The renovated two-storey lobby was a vast open space. Combining both acoustical walnut slat panels as well as large-scaled pendant lights, the overall space has been filled to fill fuller and have all elements installed to be proportionate to the space they are in.
A new main floor waiting area includes a new seating area with feature wall for building tenant brochures. The updated elevator lobby finishes include textured porcelain stone on the wall as well as a new cluster of globe lights to provide some softness and playfulness to the otherwise square space.
The former second floor waiting area was completely revamped. The existing over-scaled metal and glass guard rails were removed, and a new built-in planter detail installed to provide both visual privacy and acoustic absorbency to this area. Three existing square ceiling features were removed in order to install a new acoustic ceiling feature.
Like with the main floor, the second-floor elevator lobby has new flooring, textured wall tile and the same, consistent globe lighting feature.
All second-floor corridors were fully renovated to include new flooring, new ceiling, new lighting and new Tenant entry features and signage.
We worked closely with both our client and their environmental wayfinding company to design, coordinate and implement all new wayfinding and interior signage throughout.
